When it comes to stroke signs, many of us have learned the acronym F-A-S-T.

But for me, that’s just too S-L-O-W.

Here’s a quick review of F-A-S-T because it can be useful, but knowing how to identify a stroke before it happens is better medicine.

Face – can they smile?
Arms – can they raise both arms and keep them there?
Speech – is their speech slurred?
Time – to call 911

But currently, very few people know that the most accurate way to tell if someone has had a stroke is to look at their … tongue.

In fact, your tongue tells so much about your health that you should look at it every morning.

One sign that ALL stroke victims have in common is a what is called a deviated tongue.

The best part is that this stroke sign shows up BEFORE a stroke happens. Sometimes even weeks to months before. Knowing what to look for, you can prevent this medical disaster. Now that’s acting FAST-ER!

The Stroke Sign That Can Predict A Stroke

A deviated tongue is the stroke sign that indicates a very high stroke risk or a previous stroke

All you have to do is stick out your tongue in front of a mirror or ask your loved one to stick out their tongue. If the tongue pulls to one side, it indicates a high stroke risk or a stroke sometime in the past.

The power of this stroke sign is its ability to alert people that have a high stroke risk BEFORE they get a stroke.

The risk of stroke more than doubles each decade after the age of 55.

Did you know that people who have had a stroke are TWO TIMES more likely to develop Alzheimer’s dementia?

So ask your parents and grandparents to stick out their tongues every once in a while.

And if you see a deviated tongue, act FAST-ER!
